Dell Inspiron i5577-7359BLK-PUS Reviewing your next gaming machine

Most people, upon searching for a new laptop, tend to look for something that can handle most everyday tasks such as browsing the web, watching movies and getting some work done without any hiccups. However, for those who have more graphically oriented jobs or simply those who like to play some hardcore games, they have to search for a gaming laptop.

Searching for a gaming laptop is no easy task, there are several models and typically the price point of these kind of laptops are pretty high up there. That's why when we find a budget gaming laptop that meets all our needs and then some we get pretty excited. That's precisely what happened when we found Dell's latest Dell Inspiron i5577-7359BLK-PUS.

This particular model packs a great graphics chip, Full HD display, latest generation i7 processor and a pretty nifty hybrid storage option. Without further delay, lets get our hands dirty and get to know this model as we dive straight in to our review of the Dell Inspiron i5577-7359BLK-PUS.

A design that doesn't leave much to the imagination

Upon first glance of the Dell Inspiron i5577-7359BLK-PUS you can tell pretty quickly that you're looking at a gaming laptop, thanks to both its robust body as well as its red accents located in the Dell logo and around the trackpad.

Full HD is a must for this kind of computers and we've got a 15.6 inch anti glare LED panel with a 1920 by 1080 resolution. It should be pointed out that the trackpad in this case is backlit, something that we've come to expect within the price range.

It's hardly the most portable of laptops as it weighs north of 5.5 pounds and measures just shy of an inch. Take into account that this laptop was not conceived to be transported from one place to another but rather as a full on desktop replacement.

Top notch performance

Performance is the name of the game in this review and boy are we happy it is. Under the hood you'll find a quad core 7th generation Intel Core i7 Processor that clocks in at a maximum speed of 3.8 GHz wth 6MB of cache. Couple that with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM working at 2400 MHz and you've got yourself a powerhouse capable of dealing with all sorts of tasks no matter how complex they might be.

Storage is also a big deal when it comes to this model as it packs a hybrid storage option which combines 1TB of hard drive capacity with 128 GB of SSD storage. This means that you pretty much get the best of both worlds with a quick response in pretty much any area you can think off. This is the best possible option with the exception of having a 1 TB SSD unit which would place the price point through the roof for this notebook.

Can we talk about battery life?

As Dell didn't disclose battery life on this model and within our professional opinion based on the key components, we should expect battery life on this model to run anywhere between 4 to 5 hours of regular usage. It's not that bad considering all the things that this model has going for it, from its Full HD display all the way to its dedicated graphics chip which we'll cover in a minute.

Let's take on graphics

Graphics are the cornerstone of any gaming laptop and in this case its no exception. Specifically we've got an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 GPU with 4 GB of dedicated RAM. In case you're not familiar with this graphical chip, it's amongst the most advanced ones within the consumer market, allowing you to play AAA games such as "Prey" and "Resident Evil 7" at Full HD without suffering over any sorts of lag.

Its dedicated graphics aren't exclusively for gaming, if you're a graphic designer or a video editor then you'll definitely appreciate the extra effort made in this department as it will make a pretty big difference from working with an integrated graphics as advanced as said graphics might be.

Great connectivity options

A good gaming laptop can't be without its solid connectivity options. In that department we're pretty much covered with everything from USB 3.0 ports to HDMI and ethernet ports as well as SD card readers. One absent element that's worth pointing out is the fact that there's no DVD drive in sight, something that's becoming something of a trend lately.

In closing...

Wrapping up this review we've gotta say that overall this laptop is definitely a solid buy for those looking for an affordable gaming machine as well as those looking to get some work done editing videos or graphical documents at a high end level.

In wrapping it's pretty clear that this is one of the best gaming machines we've seen so far this year so if you're willing and able we'd totally recommend the purchase as you're unlikely to be disappointed.
