Pros: 8.5 hour battery life, quad core CPU, 16 GB of storage, 2 USB ports,  cheap price point (see price here).
Cons: Nothing specially attractive aside from the price.

The chromebook market is starting to get a bit crowded and it can be a bit difficult to tell which is the best chromebook for us. That said, today we're here to talk about a new arrival in the "chromebook universe". SEE: Lenovo S21e Review: The Windows 10 budget laptop you can't miss

We're talking about the Poin 2 Chromebook 11 LT0101-01US. And yes, I know the name isn't as "sexy" as one would like but bear with us, it's actually a pretty nifty chromebook. Poin2 Chromebook 11 LT0101-01US Review

Screen and First Impressions

As you might've guessed based on the name, this new chromebook sports and 11.6 inch screen with a standard 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. So it's not a chromebook pixel, tell me something I didn't know :P

Moving on to the physical dimensions, this chromebook is quite light weighing in at just 2.4 pounds and sporting a very thin body of roughly 0.7 inches. It's worth noting that the new Poin2 chromebook implements an interesting brushed real metal palmrest which gives it a more "premium" feel then most chromebooks in the market. Also, curiously enough, this chromebook packs a lower cased keyboard, something quite odd yet kind of "fun" to look at.

All in all it has an attractive design which is mostly geared towards practicality more than simply design for the sake of design. That being said, let's move on to the more "techie" aspects of this Poin2 Chromebook 11 LT0101-01US review.

CPU, RAM and Storage

When we get to this segment of the review it really seems like most chromebooks copy each other and the Poin2 was not going to be the exception. That said, the Poin2 11 inch chromebook sports a Rockchip quad core 1.8 GHz CPU accompanied by 2 GB of RAM and a standard 16 GB of flash storage.

It's worth pointing out that the Poin2 Chromebook also implements a couple of USB ports so you'll be able to connect an external hard drive if needed. Also, don't forget that with the purchase of any chromebook Google gifts us with 100 GB of free online Drive storage during two years so you should have your storage needs pretty much covered.

Battery Life and Webcam

Another key selling point when it comes to chromebooks and one of the strongest differentiators in a segment where all machines look the same is the battery life. All chromebooks sport a different battery life and in the case of the Poin2 11 LT0101-01US we've got a solid 8.5 hours of battery life before we need to plug it in.

Of course Poin could not forget about implementing a webcam and in this case we've got an HD webcam with audio. Not much to say here.

Connectivity

Wrapping up our review of the Poin2 Chromebook 11 LT0101-01US it's time to talk connections. Once again we run into a pretty standard set of specs which come out at 2 USB 2.0 ports, 1 HDMI port, 1 DC-in, 1 audio jack, a microSD card reader and of course your run of the mill Bluetooth 4.0 support and high speed WiFi 802.11 ac connection. As I stated, pretty standard stuff.

Veredict: Is it worth buying?

It's truth time. After carefully reviewing the pros and cons of the Poin2 chromebook we must say that, even though it put on a good fight and we like what we see there's simply not enough of a price discount for us to really be compelled to buy this chromebook over all the others in the market.

With the Acer chromebook 11.6 inch CB3-111-C670 being availabke for just a few extra bucks and sharing most of the specs, we simply don't understand why someone would choose not to buy the Acer model and pick up the Poin2 instead. Sure, both chromebooks are carved from the same proverbial stone but it can never hurt to buy your chromebook from a "popular stone" instead of a relative newbie.
