Powered by powerful components at a reasonable price, ASUS's VivoBook Flip 14 lineup is the right solution for students and users needing an easy-to-carry 2-in-1 laptop for everyday tasks, and today we're going to get to know one of its top-rated models; the ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 TP470EA-AS34T.

This model has managed to quickly climb the charts and presents itself as a great option for those looking to get themselves an excellent convertible that packs an Intel Core i3 CPU, fast SSD drive, crisp touchscreen, fingerprint reader, generous battery life, and a budget-friendly price point.

On that note, the ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 TM420UA-DS52T could be a better choice for you in case you need a 14-inch convertible with higher RAM capacity for better multitasking performance.

As for the graphics, it has an integrated GPU (Intel UHD Graphics 615) which is aimed at casual graphics users and can be used for things such as 4K streaming through external monitors. This is not a gaming laptop, and if there was any doubt, the graphics card used here makes it crystal clear.

Concerning storage, it packs a respectable 128 GB of SSD storage capacity. It's not as much as we would have liked. We would have been happier with 256 GB worth of storage, but 128 GB of non-upgradable storage is commonplace amongst convertibles. 

All in all, the performance segment of this review makes it quite clear that a convertible does feature a series of limitations, most prominently the impossibility of upgrading neither the RAM nor the storage. If you're looking for a device that's future-proof, then this is definitely something you'll want to consider. More so when the base RAM is a mere 4 GB which isn't exactly a lot. 

Ultimately, while not a paperweight thanks to its respectable processor, you can expect the Flip 14 TP470EA-AS34T to be well suited for students, casual users, bloggers, writers, and generally people who are going to be working with one or two programs at a time. 

If you were planning to do some programming or video editing on this laptop, we would seriously urge you to look elsewhere, preferably toward a notebook with more RAM and a dedicated GPU. 

Regarding connectivity options, the ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 TP470EA-AS34T features two full-sized USB-A ports and a single high-speed Thunderbolt 4 port with DisplayPort and Power Delivery support for external monitors and fast charging, respectively.

In addition, it has an HDMI 1.4 output, a Micro SD card reader, a headphone jack, a fingerprint reader, and an HD webcam for video calls.

Furthermore, it supports Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi 6 wireless standards, so you'll be able to web browse up to three times faster when compared to the Wi-Fi 5 protocol.

Overall, a fairly generous connectivity suite, which is definitely a must when looking to buy a convertible laptop.

As for the battery life of the ASUS VivoBook Flip 14 TP470EA-AS34T, we've got a 42 Wh 3-cell lithium battery that provides nearly 8 hours of mixed usage, which is a good number for a convertible laptop designed to use on the go. Not great, but still good.

Moreover, this model support ASUS's fast charging technology, allowing you to get up to 60% extra battery in just 49 minutes. This is always a handy feature to have, and we're surprised to find out more laptops don't offer this feature right off the bat.

The touchscreen stands out thanks to its sharp images, and the keyboard is very helpful even in dim environments due to its backlit feature - not all that common in convertibles -. 

Overall, a decent convertible for students, bloggers, writers, and casual users. However, we would not recommend this laptop to be a primary work laptop since the limited RAM and Storage that can't be upgraded could quickly become an issue.
